Ship Likes & Opt-ins

Very broadly speaking, I love high contrast ships: grumpy/sunshine, knight/knave, butch/femme, genius/himbo, workaholic/layabout (also applies to character designs: watch me fall headfirst for any sun-themed/moon-themed ship out there).

Rarepairs, and crackships treated seriously! The main appeal of shipping, to me, is in Exploring Possibilities, and I'm always excited when fic or art gets me into a ship I'd never even considered before!

OCs are great, especially when they come with bonus worldbuilding, and I wholeheartedly opt in to them! Same goes for characters who exist but are never shown in canon, or are so minor you’ll have to basically invent them anyway.

I’m requesting LBD/O with OCs in mind, but if you have a nonbinary or agender headcanon you want to use, that’s also fine by me, so long as the character’s canon gender is one I requested!

I DNW cheating except in specific scenarios but I’m 100% down for open relationships; ditto exploring multiple ships in one work, whether it’s multiple people pining for LBD, N+1 characters LBD kissed, etc. The only thing I ask is please keep any negativity towards non-endgame ships to a minimum (‘it didn’t work out’ is fine, ‘here’s why it could never in a million years have worked out’ is a bit much).

On a similar note, while detailed sex scenes do nothing for me, I do love a bit of sensuality, less explicit explorations of desire, and suggestive flirting (especially for established relationships, be they married couple or long-term fwb).

Fic Likes

Relationship development in general:

first meetings,
getting to know each other,
backstory reveals,
first times,
meeting the family/friends,
etc.

I love pre-relationship and established relationships both, and if you go with the former I’m very happy to simply bask in the pining, whether LBD is pining or being pined for. I’m not all that interested in the actual get-together part unless it’s the culmination of something plottier.

Tone-wise, I love whump and hurt/comfort; a touch of action/adventure; ghost stories and folk horror; a touch of humor; and simple light-hearted fluff. I’m not the biggest fan of relationship angst (ie. jealousy, insecurities, refusal to communicate, etc.) but any other type of angst = yes, please. I’m also always down for canon expansions: backstories, missing scenes, sidequests, aftermath of canon events and especially of canon whump, etc.

Other things I love:

N+1 stories,
in medias res beginnings,
characters sharing hobbies, or teaching each other new skills,
food & cooking,
language & linguistics, from the silly (... puns, I mean puns) to the more serious,
tech/magic spells gone awry and other convenient trope starters.

Trope!fic I love include but are not limited to: de-aging, truth spells, bodyswap or bodysharing (especially m <-> f with a smudge of gender exploration), temporary loss of superpower, new superpower, trapped in a dream/nightmare.

Art Likes

Plays on light/shadow, vibrant colors but also warm contrasts and earthy tones, highly stylized character design, symbolism and visual metaphors.

I adore landscapes, and scenes set in half-lit rooms that feel cozy and familiar; really though I just like to get a general sense of where the characters are, even if it’s not very detailed.

Shippy things I love:

small gestures of affection! forehead kisses or touches, hair brushing, hand-holding, etc;
laughing together;
hugs, the more desperate and/or tender the better;
character sharing hobbies, or teaching each other new skills;
food & cooking.

In general, I'm a lot sappier in art than in fic, and enjoy all kinds of fluffy moments and floral imagery, though if the mood takes you I'm also very into action scenes or dramatic confrontations, whether the characters are facing the same threat or facing each other; characters working together in less dramatic circumstances are also lovely!

Also: illustrations of canon events, character redesigns, and future!art where the characters are now old and gray. Women in men's clothes are always a bonus. I'm not big on wedding dresses but any other kind of formal clothing = a+++, especially if they're a bit on the extravagant/colorful side.

I went on a very nostalgic reread recently and fell in love with Yoko all over again. She's so great!! I just love how unapologetically nosey she is, how impulsive and willing to spring into action at a moment's notice; and the very femslashy canon doesn't hurt either.

... what do I even say about Raphael, man? I love gentle giants, his devotion to his family + downright healthy approach to trauma when compared to everyone else in the cast utterly won me over, and I think other people should dote on him too.

Optional Prompts:

You know how in some of his paired endings with Ingrid he helps improve Galatea’s agriculture? I love that and I would love more of that (not necessarily with Raphael/Ingrid! Just, the concept of food security being a pretty damn important part of rebuilding Fodlan after the war + Raphael’s love of food leading him to work on that)
Honestly, just a snapshot of what life is like 10+ years post-canon.
Graphic depictions of hugs.
Raphael’s partner has one last trial to overcome: meeting his sister and grandfather.
Watching someone train.
High-stakes rescue missions! Raphael as the rescuer would make a fine figure but also: he’s not the kind of character that typically gets the ‘I will surmount all odds to keep you safe’ treatment and I’d love to see that as well.

I have seen very few Leonie ships, but every single one has been a winner; idk what it is about her that makes her so shippable for me but it just works! I also think her blunt and straight-forward personality makes her a great character to throw tropey shenanigans at.

In a cast full of characters with Special Heirloom Weapons, I love that she gets hers by just asking nicely and doing a Trial; would love her to get a full Chosen Of Indech deal -- whatever this inspires for you.
