Narrative Likes

Relationship development in general:

• first meetings,
• getting to know each other,
• backstory reveals,
• first times,
• meeting the family/friends,
• etc.

I love pre-relationship and established relationships both, and if you go with the former I’m very happy to simply bask in the pining. I’m not all that interested in the actual get-together part unless it’s the culmination of something plottier. Detailed sex scenes do nothing for me, but I do love a bit of sensuality, less explicit explorations of desire, and suggestive flirting especially for established relationships.

Tone-wise, I love whump and hurt/comfort; a touch of action/adventure; ghost stories and folk horror; a touch of humor; and simple light-hearted fluff. I’m not the biggest fan of relationship angst (ie. jealousy, insecurities, withholding communication, etc.) but any other type of angst = yes, please. I’m also always down for canon expansions: backstories, missing scenes, sidequests, aftermath of canon events and especially of canon whump, etc.

Other things I love:

• N+1 stories,
• in medias res beginnings,
• characters sharing hobbies, or teaching each other new skills,
• food & cooking,
• language & linguistics, from the silly (... puns, I mean puns) to the more serious,
• routine mission gone wrong, and any adjacent scenario that would necessitate teamwork: patching up wounds, setting up camp, scouting ahead, breaking someone out of jail, and so on,
• magic spells gone awry and other convenient trope starters.

Tropes I love include but are not limited to: de-aging, truth spells, bodyswap or bodysharing (especially m <-> f with a smudge of gender exploration thrown in), temporary loss of superpower, new superpowers, trapped in a dream/nightmare.

Visual Likes

Plays on light/shadow, warm contrasts and earthy tones, highly stylized character design, symbolism and visual metaphors.

Small shippy moments I love to see in art:

• small gestures of affection! forehead kisses or touches, hair brushing, hand-holding, etc;
• laughing together;
• hugs, the more desperate and/or tender the better;
• character sharing hobbies, or teaching each other new skills;
• sharing food.

In general, I'm a lot sappier in art than in fic, and enjoy all kinds of fluffy moments and floral imagery, though if the mood takes you I'm also very into action scenes or dramatic confrontations, whether the characters are facing the same threat or facing each other; characters working together in less dramatic circumstances are also lovely!

Also: character redesigns, and future!art where the characters are now old and gray. Women in men's clothes are always a bonus. I'm not big on wedding dresses but any other kind of formal clothing = a+++, especially if they're a bit on the extravagant/colorful side.

Knight/knave pairings own my entire heart! I love their Azure Moon ending to bits (they get a retirement inn, how cute is that?!), and with so many of Ingrid's romantic supports having her as the nagging girlfriend, it's really nice to have one where she gets to be a bit of a mess for a change.

Though this is primarily a Three Houses request, I'd be fine with something set in Azure Gleam as well!

⇒ I cannot overstate how much I love the retirement inn! How does it come to be?

⇒ With Ingrid either a knight or a lord and Yuri having his own spy network, I feel like they have the perfect set up for some case fic! Maybe they stumble upon a TWSITD plot, or uncover some kinda conspiracy – or maybe Yuri’s mother is in trouble and needs help!

⇒ With Yuri’s help, Blue Lions!Ingrid survives the events of Crimson Flower. Where do they go from there?

⇒ That Academy Era play Dorothea ropes them both into.

Leonie

General

I love her blunt and straight-forward personality and how thoroughly unspecial she is amidst all the royals and dragons and descendants of heroes; I also think those traits make her a great character to throw shenanigans at.

She is very much a LBD character for me, so if you want to write shipfic with anyone other than Byleth or Jeralt, go for it!

⇒ In a cast full of characters with Special Heirloom Weapons, I love that she gets hers by asking nicely and doing a Trial. Would love her to get a full Chosen Of Indech deal – whatever this inspires for you.

⇒ Mid-timeskip team-ups with people from other classes! Does it lead to someone switching sides? Or an amicable but resolute parting of the ways?

⇒ Blade Breaker II Leonie! Let her be a badass old lady, all gray and wrinkled!

⇒ An older, more grizzled Leonie does a time travel fix-it and ends up filling in for Jeralt or Byleth in a gone-wonky timeline.

Mysterious Woman

General

So. Some explanation might be useful here.

Mysterious Woman is an NPC who appears several times in Abyss - she's the woman standing near the pagan altar. She doesn't have much dialogue, but she stood out to me the first time I played Cindered Shadows for being, well, mysterious, and now that I've just replayed the DLC I'm full of questions again. We know that she's far away from home, that she worships gods that are not of Fódlan, that something inside the statue speaks to her. That she's eventually driven off, and that she's used to it. That's not a lot to go on, but it's fascinating to me as a character-driven worldbuilding tool, so this is essentially a carte blanche request to take that tool and go wild with it.

Optional Prompts

No prompts for this one, just a million questions: Who is she? Where does she come from? Who are the gods she worships, and how if at all do they relate to the rest of the game's mythology? How did she come to be in Abyss? Where does she go when she leaves? She uses the Gremory model - is she actually some kind of spellcaster, and if so how does her magic differ from the one used in Fódlan? What does she look like under the veil? What led her so far away from home, and what kind of secrets did she bring with her? More generally, any kind of exploration of the game's events as seen through her eyes, filtered through whatever cultural biases and incomplete information she may be working with, is something I'd be interested in!

And because this is such a niche request: she's in the FE3H datamine as Mysterious Woman, and you can find all of her dialogue in the explore segments of Cindered Shadows + a few White Clouds chapters (she first appears in chapter 4 and leaves after chapter 9).

I love Hana and Subaki remaining united in their drive to protect Sakura despite being at odds in everything else, I find Sakura's highkey sensitivity to be delicious angst fodder, and I think they're a fun trio to throw at any given obstacle, from politics to skirmishes!

⇒ Subaki’s beginnings as Sakura’s retainer! With Hana & Sakura close friends already, how much adjustment was needed before he could fit in?

⇒ Captured together! Especially the kind of captured together where they’re all held separately, and have to be patient and clever about things in order to escape without endangering the others. How do they get out of it?

⇒ Post-Birthright or Conquest, Sakura is sent to Nohr as a diplomatic liaison, or for an arranged marriage with Xander or Leo.

Orochi/Kagero

General

This one hits just the right note of grumpy/sunshine for me, and I melt every time I remember “I suppose I'll just have to carry your smile with me in life.” / “Your doom and gloom got me through my childhood with a smile on my face.” (How many times do you see gloom framed as a positive, not enough times if you ask me.) Tbh Orochi is my favorite Fates character for being both a bundle of sunshine and a bit of a troll, and her efforts to make the people around her smile warm my heart every time.

⇒ Secret messages sent through art! Maybe it’s a form of courtship, or maybe Kagero needs to pass on a message indicating something is wrong in a way that only Orochi would recognize.

⇒ Kagero’s solo epilogue states that paintings *thought* to be by her were preserved as national treasures. Does Orochi helps with that preservation effort... or help muddy the tracks (reverse art heist!)

⇒ That first meeting in full.

General

Farina is such a fun contrast to the usual pegasus knights! I love the greediness, and I love that the greediness has motivations that go beyond just making money - she’s the kind of person who shows her love by buying people things, which is always fun when combined with money grubbing tendency. I really like her whole panel of supports as well!

The three sisters together, meanwhile, are a bundle of issues I just want to poke with a stick. I'm there for siblings who have problems communicating, know that they have problems communicating, and are making the effort to power through anyway; it’s bound to be a rocky road, and I'd love to see more of that!

Optional Prompts

⇒ What is Farina up to during Eliwood’s tale? Does this version of her ever meet with her sisters again? Or cross paths with anyone else?

⇒ Treasure hunts! Maybe Farina gets her hands on Dart’s map and they race for it; or maybe she finds her own and drags someone on an adventure! Alternatively: all three sisters embark on a Lost Tomb style treasure hunt in a modern day Elibe.

⇒ Fiora gets in trouble during a mission, and it’s up to her sisters to get her out of it this time.

⇒ Something something that mountain of the Ice Dragon Florina spent a night on as a child. Maybe she actually gets lost, and her sisters have to fly to the rescue? Or maybe they revisit it together post-canon, and find traces of a pre-Scourging settlement? Maybe even a canon div AU where the dragon who lives there is Aenir, Ninian or Nils!

Karel/Lucius

General

This ship somehow evokes the exact same fond nostalgia as teen me's CLAMP ships, even though I literally played the game for the first time this year. I am in awe. Aesthetically, it's amazing, but more importantly: the inherent romanticism of a bloodthirsty killer admitting he’s really fucking tired and finding solace in one person and not knowing what to do with that, man.

⇒ Karel’s Sword Demon days come back to haunt him (bounty hunters? a trial? an actual, literal haunting?); Lucius intercedes on his behalf.

⇒ The long journey from Sword Demon to Saint of Swords. "What prompted this change, he will not say" well let’s say it anyway!

⇒ Post-canon slice of life at Lucius’ orphanage! Is Karel a permanent fixture, or does he come and go as he pleases? How do they handle Lucius’ ‘sickness of the soul’? Any visits from Raven or Bartre/Karla – if they even survived the war?

⇒ One of the kids is kidnapped, and Lucius has to turn to Karel for help.

You ever meet a character that seems to have been expressly designed to appeal to you? Yeah. I love trickster types, I love characters who turn everything into a joke to avoid dealing with their feelings, and I love immortals slowly growing detached from / disillusioned with humanity only to have their walls breached and their worst expectations defied time and again.

Xane/Marth likewise contains so many things that are right up my alley, from the knight/knave dynamic to Xane acting as a guide in Anri’s footsteps to the potential for some edge when leaning on non-human morality. My favorite flavor for them is bittersweet unrequited (or simply unresolved) pining on Xane’s part, but this is very much a “my ship is so small, why would I ever be picky?” situation for me and I’d be genuinely happy to see them get any attention.

Of note, since this is the one ship I request that could potentially conflict with a canon ship: I’m absolutely fine with background Marth/Caeda, Marth/Caeda never having been a thing at all, or poly, and would prefer any of these solutions over a break up or Caeda dying.

Optional Prompts

⇒ Shapeshifting for fun or profit, in big or small ways! Maybe 5+1 times someone else got tricked, or maybe he takes the form of one of the princesses at the wrong (right?) moment and ends up kidnapped in her stead. Or maybe Marth/Tiki/[your choice of character] gets captured, and it’s up to Xane to sneak his way in for a rescue.

⇒ The degeneration of the Earth Dragons and the resulting war. What was it like, to watch fellow dragons succumb to madness? Who was Xane before, and how was he one of the few to survive? Did he know Medeus at all?

⇒ Walking Anri’s Way, then and now.

⇒ Unrequited/unresolved pining! I’m a huge sucker for both Pining For Someone Unattainable and mutual pining that resolves into bittersweet acknowledgment the attraction might be there, but it is not enough, and between Xane’s functional immortality + general dislike of humans and Marth status as royalty, there’s plenty here to keep them apart.

⇒ AU where Dolhr never quite fell, instead settling into a tense peace with the newly independent human kingdoms. How different is this Archanea? Does the War of Shadows still happen in some way? Or do Xane and Marth meet in wholly different circumstances (arranged marriage? diplomatic exchange? Dolhr agents target Marth in an attempt to start a war and Xane interferes?)?

Among so many ship options, many of them actually relevant to the plot, my dumbass brain just looked at Annette and went yep, that's it, that’s the one. I just really like the contrast between Shez’s rough-and-tumble attitude and Annette’s more ladylike personality! It doesn't hurt that I reached Annette’s A support and gave her the merc whistle right before A Night Of Wonder became available, which gave Annette bringing Shez along a completely different vibe and left me enamored with the idea of Shez as the buff gf who doesn’t really get all that magic stuff but will happily come along to make sure her gf doesn’t get in trouble. I also think their support line is both cute and funny, and I like that in a f/f ship.

Optional Prompts

⇒ Bodyguard and her charge! Either Shez is tasked with escorting Annette somewhere, or a post-canon chance encounter leads to a rescue and renewed feelings. Or flip the script and let Annette fly to her bodyguard's rescue, Crusher in hand!

⇒ Investigating Shez’s origins together!

⇒ Something about Annette's Courageous Aria, and Shez being able to equip it - how does that actually work, in universe? Is Shez distractedly humming one of Annette's songs while fighting? Does she pick up Annette's habit of shouting encouragements at her friends mid-battle? Or is there actual magic involved?

⇒ Since most of Annette's Three Houses endings involve teaching, I love the idea of her and Shez opening some kind of Sword and Sorcery school together! How does it come to be?

This one has been on my mind ever since Constance was first revealed to have been Mercedes’s childhood friend, and their Paralogue delivered all I wanted from it and more! Just girls being girls, rescuing villagers from bandits while trying out dangerous experimental spells.

Also: I am THERE for intense friendships between women that may or may not have romantic undertones!

⇒ Spell experiments! Maybe they try their hand at mixing reason and faith magic somehow, or discover unexpected side-effects of their Crests? Or maybe something to do with Annette's Aria - it wouldn't be the first time magic music was a thing in the franchise...

⇒ Annette & Constance coming up with increasingly over-the-top schemes to discourage Mercedes’s unwanted suitors.

⇒ In an AU where they all did go to Fhirdiad’s School of Sorcery together, what kind of hijinks do they get into? (Alternatively: Magical Diary AU? I feel like they would fit right in with the vibe of the game!)

⇒ Because Mercedes tends to take more of a passive role in canon, I would love to see her in a situation that forces her out of her comfort zone and pushes her to be more active: time loop that only she is aware of, rescue mission where she has to act fast, etc.
